Early Christmas Surprise

We have a new baby in our family! Josephine, Josie, joined our famliy as an early surprise from Santa this morning. The kids were excited, although also cautious. Especially Gideon, once Josie started nipping at him, he tried to put her back in the box! By the end of the day, he was proud of having her, but he still doesn't like her to get too close. Eowyn figured out pretty quickly that if she held the puppy, the puppy wouldn't move very much. It's so funny watching the pup tolerate Eowyn's care. But other than that, Eowyn has taken on the responsibility wonderfully! I've been so proud of her.

All we do for Halloween is go up to the Veatch farm. The kids are the only trick-or-treaters there and those two houses load them down with enough candy for a month! (Unless Mama and Daddy get their hands on it!)
Eowyn claimed she wanted to be a "happy witch" for Halloween, but the store was sold out by the time we went shopping. So she was fabulously pleased with a beautiful Cinderella gown. And Gideon did really well with the Scooby costume. He looked really cute, and seemed to enjoy it. Here's some pictures of our night!

Gideon's haircut

A couple of weeks ago I finally broke down and cut Gideon's beautiful hair. It was getting in his eyes, as you can see. This was also my first time cutting a boy's hair so it's not perfect, but I'll get better with practice I'm sure. Gideon did pretty good, although several snips were done too quickly. Oh well, here's the photos of the event!
